This weekend I had one great opportunity to be an actor in a Feature Film.
The audition went really well! I played the role of Young Doctor where there were several talking scenes. It's great to have things simply click in the sense that I've been taking many "Cold Reading" workshops with some respectable folks in the industry. There are many, many, many details that need to come together for a successful cold read, I pulled many of these attributes together to deliver one strong audition.
The Casting Director also asked for a 60 second dramatic monologue. I have multiple monologues in my pocket ready to roll so I felt confident in this arena too. I practiced many times before leaving to the actual audition too.
This project is looking to get Green Lit which means its looking for additional production companies and funding to make the project come to life. My immediate goal with this specific situation is to receive a callback in hopes to shoot a pilot for investors. If proper funding is achieved, this film shoots in Africa!
This audition, like most, come last minute. I found out about this audition 24 hours before where I actually heard back from the casting about 12 hours before my call time. Like my old Boy Scout motto - Be Prepared - and I was. I'll let you know how it all went and if I receive a callback.
Regardless, another great experiences under my belt... feels real good - adrenaline is still flowing!
